Valleyfair boasts its very own food truck, the “Taste of Valleyfair.”It features a variety of park favorites and a rotating menu.

Valleyfair has tapped fellow RiverSouth partner Badger Hill Brewing to introduce a new and exclusive craft beer in honor of the amusement park’s 40th Anniversary. High Roller Extra Park Ale, a brew as classic and satisfying as the ride it was named after, is available all summer long at Valleyfair, as well as at the Badger Hill Taproom.

Canterbury Park features a variety of dining options, day and night.

Canterbury offers a buffet during every live racing day. The menu changes each race day, including Prime Rib (Thursday nights), Seafood (Friday nights), Mexican (Saturday nights in August) and Saturday and Sunday Brunch.

Try Canterbury’s new and improved Pub Grub menu. A popular choice is the Chicken Bacon Mac & Cheese, made with smoked Gouda cheese sauce, cavatappi pasta, Cheddar, grilled chicken, bacon and green onion. Another hot menu item is the Short Rib Tacos with braised short ribs, Cotija cheese, pickles fresno, salsa verde, cilantro, sour cream and arugula all inside a flour tortilla.

Every Saturday and Sunday, enjoy a Canterbury Pick 6 Bloody Mary. These delicious beverages include shrimp, Cheddar cheese, salami, pepperoncini, marinated garlic cloves in a peppadew pepper and a feta cheese stuffed green olive, served with celery and a pickle spear.


Canterbury’s Chalk Pub is a craft beer bar featuring a rotating menu of tap beer and packaged products brewed locally and nationally. Some current craft tap selections are Elysian Super Fuzz, Life Bridge Mango Blonde, Stone Delicious IPA and Mankato Mad Butcher.

Meat lovers will rejoice to the additions of BBQ burnt ends, two varieties of turkey burgers and a triple meat burger that includes pulled pork, brisket and bacon.

Dessert additions include salted caramel puff sundaes and chocolate stuffed chocolate chip cookie sundaes. In the mood for something sweet and salty? Look no farther! The festival is debuting maple bacon funnel cakes.

And, the king-sized pretzel and roasted poblano and white Cheddar soup with tomatillos will leave any guest feeling like royalty.

Guests can enjoy the new Craft Cocktail Bar with favorites like Bloody Marys, margaritas, vodka lemonades and sparkling gin. Other craft cocktails pair perfectly with Renaissance events. Whiskey and scotch tastings are new additions this year.

There are many great dining options throughout RiverSouth, including two new, noteworthy restaurants.

Charlies on Prior is a lakeside restaurant, bar and marina on beautiful Prior Lake. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating including a two-level waterfront patio, a delicious menu and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

O’Brien’s Public House is a unique Irish experience located in historic downtown Shakopee. The authentically decorated pub is a mix of local structural antiques as well as touches from the old country and darn good food.
