Everyone has their favorite Valleyfair memory. Check out Valleyfair’s 100 reasons to own a Gold Season Pass! Valleyfair opens for the 2017 season on May 12, with the debut of North Star—the only ride of its kind in the upper Midwest. At 230 feet tall, North Star will spin riders 20 stories above the ground at speeds up to 40 miles per hour!
Calling all performers! The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is pleased to announce auditions for the 2017 season. Adult auditions will be held April 15, 22 and 29 from 10 am – 2 pm. Children’s auditions will be held on May 6 from 10 am to noon. All auditions will take place on the Minnesota Renaissance Festival grounds at 12364 Chestnut Blvd. in Shakopee. The Spring Junk Bonanza at Canterbury Park April 20 – 22 is the event for lovers of vintage finds, beautiful antiques and artisan-repurposed pieces. Admission is $10 per day, and children under 12 are free. Get a two-hour head start on shopping before the doors open for general admission with an early bird ticket! Early bird tickets are $25 online and $30 at the door.
Mike Posner and the Legendary Mike Posner Band will take the Mystic Showroom stage at Mystic Lake on Saturday, April 22. Get your tickets now for an evening of hits like “Cooler Than Me,” “Please Don’t Go,” “Bow Chicka Wow Wow” and “I Took a Pill in Ibiza.”
Savor MN returns to the Canterbury Park Expo Center on April 29 with the best of Minnesota wine, food and beer. Spend the afternoon sampling offerings from local wineries, craft breweries and food producers. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door.
It’s getting warmer every day, and that means it’s almost planting time! Gardeners, mark your calendars for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s Wozupi Tribal Gardens annual Plant Sale May 10 – 13. There will be a huge selection of annuals and perennials, organic vegetables and herbs to choose from. If you pre-order fruit trees or berry bushes, you can also pick them up at the sale. This four-day event will take place at the SMSC Public Works Building, located at 2975 Dakotah Parkway in Prior Lake.
