Great live music continues with the Prior Lake Rotary’s Lakefront Music Fest, featuring The Fray on July 14 and Billy Currington on July 15.

Camels, zebras, and Ostriches running around in Minnesota can mean only one thing—Canterbury Park’s Extreme Race Day is back. Join the fun on July 15 as these exotic animals race around the track in between the live horse races. The fun doesn’t stop there; the park has free face painting, pony rides, and a petting zoo.
Swing away this summer at the most picturesque golf course around. If you’re hoping to hit the links at The Meadows at Mystic Lake, there’s no time like the present. Fresh from its new renovation, the course is in beautiful shape with brand new white sand bunkers, which improve both the look and play of the course. Sample craft cocktails from local distilleries as you take in the horse races on July 28 at Canterbury’s Cocktail Classic. Enjoy upscale appetizers and craft spirits in the Canterbury Park Triple Crown Club from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Cocktail sampling tickets are on sale now for $55 with a limited amount of walk up tickets available day of, so grab your tickets before you come to the park.
Go hog wild at Mystic Lake when the fourth annual Great Midwest Rib Fest returns July 28 – 30. It’s a star-studded weekend of free outdoor concerts by Blind Melon and The Romantics on Friday, Edgar Winter Group, Alex Rossi, Winger and Ann Wilson of Heart on Saturday, and Little Texas and Lonestar on Sunday. Sample mouth-watering, fall-off-the-bone ribs from the country’s top pitmasters, and vote for the Best of the Fest people’s choice award. Admission and concerts are free and open to all ages; food and beverages are available for purchase.
Ride the heat wave of July straight into Valleyfair’s Soak City Waterpark. Whether you love slipping down several different types of water slides, letting the water of the wave pool take you to new heights, or just relaxing around the waterpark in the lazy river, Soak City truly is the hottest place to cool down this summer.
On July 29 and 30, experience a full-on Beach Party at Soak City with games, music, and of course, waterpark fun for the whole family. Both days feature a pig roast and steel drums to help get the beach bash mood going strong.
Cupcakes are basically mini cakes and Corgis are kind of mini horses, so it’s only natural to pair them together. On July 29, venture to Canterbury Park for Corgis and Cupcakes. Seventy-Two Corgis will move their little legs as fast as they can in seven races to crown the fastest Corgi. As you watch these little dogs gallop down the track, indulge your sweet tooth with the 2nd annual Cupcake Festival.
