Entertainment options for everyone in the Land of Big Fun!

Summer fun continues in RiverSouth with the welcome return of Medieval merriment, awesome concerts, a beer, burger and bacon fest, Native American culture and extreme sports.

Huzzah! Mark your calendars. The 47th season of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival kicks off on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20 and runs weekends through October 1, Labor Day and Festival Friday, September 29. Summer is never complete without a visit to this time-honored tradition. Each weekend at the Renaissance Festival offers a unique theme. New attractions this year include: Live Unicorn, Wizard’s Flight School Zip Line, Merlin’s Magic Quest and King Arthur Obstacle Course.  Numerous stages of live entertainment and kid-friendly activities add to the fun.

Mystic Lake Casino Hotel has teamed up with the Renaissance Festival to provide free shuttle service to the Renaissance Festival each weekend.  Park at Mystic Lake and hop on a shuttle.  It’s that easy.

Canterbury Park is the place to be on Saturday, August 5 for the Beer, Burger and Bacon Festival with live music from the BoDeans.

All Wheels Extreme brings its high-flying extreme sports show back to Valleyfair.  A finalist on NBC’s hit show America’s Got Talent, this show features some of the top professional inline skaters, skateboarders and BMX bicycle performers in the world.  Dancers, trampoline artists and aerialists add a theatrical element to create a one-of-a-kind production that will excite audiences of all ages.

Dancers and drum groups of all ages will gather and compete at the annual Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Wacipi on August 18, 19, and 20 at the Wacipi Grounds near Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.

Experience the thrill of the fifth annual Indian Horse Relay August 24-26 at Canterbury Park. This traditional Native American event attracts riders and fans from all over the country for an exciting three-day daring display of bareback horse racing. Indian Horse Relay is America’s oldest sport, dating back more than 400 years to when horses became an integral part of the cultures of the Native nations of the Great Plains. Don’t miss the Indian Market, featuring handmade crafts and jewelry, as well as traditional beading, carvings and art.

Check out the Mystic Lake Derby on Saturday night, August 24 at Canterbury Park. The richest turf race of Canterbury Park’s 2017 season will begin with a special post time of 6:00 p.m. and a winning purse of $200,000.
