The Labor Day holiday weekend provides additional opportunities for you to explore RiverSouth, with big cash prizes, family-fun activities including the ever-popular wiener dog wars, all the sweet corn you can eat and Christmas in September.
Labor Day weekend may mark the sunset of summer, but things are heating up at Mystic Lake. They’ve got a mountain of cash up for grabs during their $250K Summer Send-Off Friday, September 1 – Sunday, September 3. Friday night’s Grand Prize winner takes home $50,000 cash! And that’s just the beginning—the Saturday and Sunday night Grand Prize winners each win an epic $100,000 cash.
Valleyfair’s long-standing tradition continues at the 41st Annual Corn Feast. The feast runs September 2 – 4 and starts every day at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m. Guests can treat themselves to over 30,000 lbs. of FREE corn on the cob (while supplies last). Stop by the Gazebo Stage area to get in all the corn eating frenzy. Not a corn fan? You can still enjoy the fun by watching the daily corn eating competition.
Does your kid have talent? On September 3, Canterbury Park will be searching for talented kids under the age of 18 to perform between races. At least 10 kids will be selected by the Canterbury Park Talent Search Judges. Full rules & details here.
Join in the fun at Canterbury Park’s annual Wiener Dog Wars on Labor Day, September 4, featuring 72 dogs, 7 races, 1 champion. First horse race is at 12:45pm. Wiener Dog races will be throughout the live racing day on the main track. Dog registration is closed and no outside pets are allowed.
Travel through mesmerizing cultures during the International Bazaar theme weekend at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival September 2 – 4. Watch belly dancers venture through the International Bazaar to find unique treasures, or see if you have what it takes to slurp your way to victory at the Spaghetti Eating Contest.
Grab your friends for jolly good fun and festivities. The Renaissance Festival’s Christmas in September brings holiday spirit and good cheer early this year on Labor Day – all for $25. The discounted ticket includes admission to the Festival, brunch, gift bag, special deals and holiday experiences all throughout the Festival.
