Wow, September in the Land of Big Fun has something for everyone from new experiences to rock and roll hall of famers to great golf and ghoulish fun. Huzzah!

Come see the dazzling lights, colors, shapes, and themes during the Lantern Light festival at Canterbury Park September 7 to October 22. This six-week celebration of Chinese culture features massive lanterns, inspiring performances, and incredible cuisine and is fun for the entire family.

Justin Moore has gone from small town singer to Platinum-selling country superstar, and he’s bringing his hits to Mystic Lake Friday, September 8. Sing along to chart-toppers like “You Look Like I Need a Drink,” “Small Town USA” and “Lettin’ the Night Roll.”

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and all-around bearded legends ZZ Top are coming to the Mystic Showroom Saturday, September 16. Be there for an evening of bluesy hits like “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs.”

Coaster Campout is your opportunity to camp for a night at Valleyfair! Canterbury Park’s final weekend of live racing in September 15-16. As always, Friday night at Canterbury Park is Minnesota’s biggest happy hour, and this is your last chance until next May. On Friday night, live racing begins at 6:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.  Good luck.

Huzzah! The Minnesota Renaissance Festival continues weekends through October 1. The Pets and Pirates weekend is one of the most popular theme weekend events at the Renaissance Festival. September 16 and 17, bring your pooch and learn about pet safety and training, purchase pet clothing, personalized tags, all-natural dog food and parade your dog around for the Pet Costume Contest.

Watch the tiny wiener dogs test their legs and speed against other pups in the 5th Annual Weiner Dog Races. Pets will compete in a race to win fun prizes from the Renaissance Festival and Long Dog Apparel.  Races start at 2:00 p.m. in the jousting track.
