Make merry in the Land of Big Fun this December! Gather your family and friends and celebrate the holidays in RiverSouth!

This extravaganza is part Broadway musical with soaring acrobatics, gravity-defying feats and illusions that will leave the whole family entertained and in the holiday spirit. Kick off the holiday season with the annual Holiday Fest in Downtown Shakopee on Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2. Hosted by the Shakopee Chamber & Downtown Shakopee, this fun-for-all-ages event will include caroling from the Shakopee Area Catholic School Choir, photos with Santa Claus and the first annual Parade of Lights. It culminates in a tree lighting ceremony with Santa Claus, Snoopy and a fireworks show!

The holiday celebrations continue with the Decembrrr Dazzle at Lakefront Park on Friday, December 1. Join Santa and a few of his reindeer for photos along with ice carving demonstrations, a giant bonfire with the Fire Department, glow bowling, bean bag toss, flashlight candy cane hunt (bring your own flashlight) and more! They will also be collecting donations for the Tree of Warmth and Toys for Tots during the event and any donation is appreciated.

It’s the ultimate fight night at Mystic Lake on Friday, December 15, when top fighters battle each other and LFA 29 crowns a new LFA bantamweight champion. The evening culminates with the main event when eight-time UFC vet Chico Camus battles blue chip prospect Ricky Simon for the vacant title. Get your tickets today!

Get into the holiday spirit with Jewel’s Handmade Holiday Tour when she comes to Mystic Lake on Saturday, December 16. This festive evening will feature some of her beloved hits and more. Heralded by the New York Times as “one of the best singer-songwriters since Joni Mitchell,” Jewel rose to fame with the hit songs “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “You Were Meant for Me” and “Foolish Games.” Get your tickets today!

See a legend in action when the famed Paris By Night emcee Nguyen Ngoc Ngan hosts an unforgettable evening celebrating 25 years of introducing the world to some of the hottest names in music. To celebrate this milestone he’s brought some of them to Mystic Lake for one night only on Monday December, 25. Enjoy performances by Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, Bang Kieu, Minh Tuyet, Hoang Nhung, Diem Suong and Dan Nguyen.

Close out 2017 on Saturday, December 30, at Mystic Lake with the legendary Buddy Guy. With a career spanning 50 years and seven Grammy awards, 37 Blues Music Awards, Kennedy Center Honor, the Presidential National Medal of Arts and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you know Buddy Guy knows how to jam. His music has also been a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. So see the original for yourself!

Celebrate your New Year’s Eve with the one and only Morris Day and The Time on Sunday, December 31, at Mystic Lake. These Minneapolis legends captured the exploding 80s music scene with their funky R&B hits like “Jungle Love” and “The Bird.” They also performed in the classic movie Purple Rain, which showed the world the exploding Minneapolis music scene at its peak. This show will be sure to get you in the groove!

Mark your calendars for the 2018 championship Snocross when it returns to Canterbury Park on Friday, January 5 and Saturday, January 6! The Pirtek Snocross National, presented by Jimmy John’s, features the top extreme snowmobile riders from across the country for two days of high-flying stunts, thrills and exhilarating racing.
