It’s turning to spring and that means there’s much to do in RiverSouth. April showers may bring May flowers, but they also bring concerts, events and more!
A sure sign of spring is the return of MN Cars & Coffee™ at Canterbury Park. This monthly gathering of unique cars along with food trucks, beer and more is held the first Saturday of the month, starting on Saturday, April 7. As always, this event is FREE to participate (or just spectate).
Make it a ladies weekend or bring the family to Canterbury Park for the Spring Festival, An Arts & Crafts Affair on Friday, April 13 – Sunday, April 15. Enjoy over 500 of the nation’s finest artists and crafters selling their work, plus entertainment, gift certificate drawings, food, drink and more.
The highly anticipated Junk Bonanza, a showcase of vintage, handmade and repurposed wares, returns to Canterbury Park on Thursday, April 19 – Sunday, April 21. With vendors from across the country, this is your chance to get one-of-a-kind goods and conversation pieces. From shabby chic items to handcrafted décor, the Junk Bonanza is a fantastic place to find things that will stand out in your home. Another excuse for a ladies weekend!
Comedian and actor Joel McHale is coming to Mystic Lake for one night only on Friday, April 20. Known for E!’s The Soup, in which he satirized pop culture and current events, his latest project, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, debuted last month on Netflix along with Netflix’s A Futile & Stupid Gesture opposite Will Forte.
Mystic Lake is hosting the ultimate Beatles tribute concert, RAIN, on Friday, April 27. As “the next best thing to seeing The Beatles!” (Associated Press), RAIN will bring the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album to life with brand new LED, High-Definition screens and multimedia content. In addition to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, they’ll also perform a full range of The Beatles’ discography. This is a must see for any Beatles fan!
Looking to expand your wine cellar and enjoy more local wineries? Then make sure you attend Clink!, Minnesota’s largest local wine pop-up shop on Saturday, April 28 at Canterbury Park. Enjoy unlimited sampling from 30 Minnesota wineries and with each ticket you’ll also receive a CLINK! commemorative tasting glass, food sampling, enjoy live music, entertainment and educational sessions. All attendees must be older than 21.
A spring rite of passage, heck, even summer, is the opening of Valleyfair. Their 2018 season kicks off next month on Friday, May 11 with the debut of the new Delirious ride, it will coil riders upside-down on a seven story, 360-degree freestanding structure. You can also enjoy new foods and improvements in the picturesque Route 76 area. Don’t miss a moment of thrills, excitement, fun and exclusive member perks with a Gold Season pass.
The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is getting ready for another year of revelry and amusement and is recruiting musicians, bands, performance ensembles, actors, dancers, singers, acrobats and unique characters to showcase their special talents. No experience is necessary and no skill is too small. Participants interested in being an entertainer can attend auditions on May 5, 12 and 19 from 10am – 2pm.
