On Wednesdays August 1 through August 15, head to Midway Movies in Galaxy Theatre for family friendly movies and a bag of FREE buttery popcorn (while supplies last).
This is your last chance to head to Valleyfair for Minnesota Eats on Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5. Uniquely Minnesotan foods (picture hotdishes, juicy lucys, s’mores, and more) along with locally brewed beer will be sure to get your taste buds going. Plus, jam out to Valleyfair’s house band, Minnie & The Saint Pauls, playing the biggest hits from the last 50 years.
Household name Reba McEntire fills the Mystic Amphitheater on Saturday, August 11 with her signature sound. The multi-media entertainment mogul’s latest album “Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope” earned her a Grammy.
The place to be seen on Saturday, August 11 is Canterbury Park at Dressed to the Nines Day. Put on your big hats and bow ties for Minnesota’s Oaks and Derby. Plus, the first 2,500 paid fans will receive a pair of argyle socks. You can also get tickets for the special Royal Day Party honoring the traditions of Royal Ascot in England.

Huzzah! The 48th season of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival kicks off on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19. New this year is the Buccaneer Beer Bash with belly dancing, fantasy costume contest and Turkey Leg Trot 5K on Sunday, August 19.
Valleyfair is throwing the ultimate summer party, Beach Bash. On Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19 experience a variety of food, live entertainment, and games at Soak City Waterpark. This is the coolest party of the season and you won’t want to miss out.
It’s the inaugural Basset Hound Races on Sunday, August 18. These cute short-legged hounds will make their way down the track in the ultimate basset hound battle. There’s fun for the entire family with free pony rides and face painting for the kids. Note, only dogs approved to race are allowed onsite.
It’s a special weekend of racing at Canterbury Park Thursday, August 23 through Saturday, August 25 with the Indian Horse Relay and Market. Indian Horse Relay is America’s first sport and is thrilling today as it was 400 years ago. Watch as riders warriors race bareback at high speeds in an exciting horse relay. Then, stop by the Expo Center to enjoy a unique variety of Native American Arts and Crafts. Presented by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC).
It’s another weekend of fun at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26 where they’ll be celebrating all things Scottish and Celtic with the Highland Games. Come see the 12th Annual World Amateur Highland Heavy Games Championships with the top ten amateurs from across the nation competing.
Fridays just got more fun with Mystic Lake’s “Hit the Open Road” promotion. It’s road trip season and Mystic Lake has you covered with the chance to win a new motorcycle or Ford® Mustang. Each Friday in August, three lucky guests will be drawn to play for a new motorcycle!
